A few days ago, helping 2nd-grader Tink with study her spelling:
Me: Spell "turkey".
Tink: T-U-R-K-E-Y.
Me: Good... (searching for next word, but saying under my breath) "As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly..."
Tink: (smirking, under her breath) "Oh, the humanity!"
Do I raise 'em right or do I?
